Was the Quran founded on the same oral traditions as the Bible? If so, why can we trust the Bible over the Quran?
NO—the Quran was not founded on the same oral traditions as the Bible. According to Muslim legend, a man named Mohammad received the Scriptures in a direct, word-for-word fashion from the angel Gabriel, so there was no oral tradition involved. Most Muslims believe the Bible to be corrupted either due to false translation or false interpretation and, therefore, only the Quran represents the truth.
